Special Projects for Inspiration

So, I wanted to make a card that would really show off my new Joanna Sheen CD I'd bought - the lovely 'Precious Petals'. Having looked through the scumptious papers they reminded me of wallpaper and with the super cute baby pictures I thought about a 'room design'. So, now you don't have to choose only 2 or 3 papers to play with on one card, yipee!!

Here's how I did it, and again like the X Cut card you can do this for a range of card sizes:

Materials
  • Range of complimentary papers
  • Embellishments
  • 3 sheets of same size card
  • Tools that let you make score lines
  • Double sided tape and glue/foam pads
  • Ribbon
1) Decide what size card you want - you can take your envelope and measure that. Once measured take off enough of an allowance for the card to fit into the envelope. The final measurement you end up with as the 'width' needs to be divisable by 3 as you'll have three panels on your card. Now cut three pieces of card all the same size as required;

2) Score each one of your three pieces of cards into thirds (you'll have a front, middle and back).

3) Using double sided tape (finger lift tape), stick your front card piece to your middle on the central panel, now turn this over and stick your back piece to the middle, again on the central panel. You should now have three pieces of card stuck to each other on the middle panel;

4) Next, fold your score lines on the front panel towards you and the back panel ones away from you (see the photo below as this will help);

5) Now for the fun - decorate each panel with your papers and embellishments. You'll see on the photos below and I punched two holes on the top of the central panel and thread through ribbon.

6) What about the greeting? Well, you can either leave a panel free to write on or put a pocket onto one of your panels and insert a tag for your message.
